On 5-8 December 2016 the CEC “Expocentre” hosted the 23rd edition of the International Specialized Exhibition “APTEKA 2016”. Traditionally, the exhibition took place within the Russian Healthcare Week, bringing together representatives of the pharmaceutical industry from Russia and other countries, and serving as a business platform for summing-up the results of the year and future prospects discussion.

“APTEKA-2016” exhibition was organized by “Euroexpo” with the assistance of CEC “Expocentre”, and was supported by the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Russian Association of Pharmaceutical Marketing, Russian Association of Pharmacy Chains, and the Union of Professional Pharmaceutical Organizations. “APTEKA” is one of the key trade exhibition brands in Russia that has obtained the status of UFI Approved Event, and was held under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

More than 150 companies from 15 countries participated at the exhibition this year, including UK, Germany, Egypt, India, Japan, Jordan, Spain, Italy, China, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Croatia and Czech Republic.

The regular “APTEKA” exhibitors made the core group of the show: “Design-Vector”, Borisov Medical Preparations Plant, “Violent”, “Diamir-K”, “Tatkhimfarmpreparaty”, “Iodic Technologies”, “Fencenter Vilar”, “Belfarma”, “Zeldis Pharma”, “Fitosila”, “Evalar” and others participate at “APTEKA” for over two decades.

The leading medical and pharmaceutical companies of Altai (Altay-Seligor, Blagodat+, Evalar, Yunikom, VestLi) were represented at the consolidated exposition of the Altai Biopharmaceutical Cluster, demonstrating the region’s opportunities in manufacturing drugs, dietary supplements and substances.

The exhibition’s goal was provide an effective platform for business communication for both market newcomers and key industry players. Thus, among the first-time exhibitors of “APTEKA” there were Farmasintez-Retail, Real Kosmetik, Adwia (Egypt), BarijEssence Pharmaceutical Co (Iran), BelEmsa (Belarus), Peptech, MP DISTRIBUZIONE s.r.l. (Italy). Belarussian companies are represented by Borisov Medical Preparations Plant, Minskinterkaps plant, BelEmsa and Galateya Farm.

Many experts know “APTEKA” exhibition because of the International Medical and Pharmaceutical Business Forum that annually takes place within the show. In 2016 the Forum’s programme included 17 sections, where the delegates actively discussed the industry development priorities: opportunities of the Russian pharmaceutical industry in import substitution, impact of the general economic situation in Russia on purchasing behaviour in retail pharmacies, sales supporting in crisis and many other important issues.

One of the important events of the show was the 2nd International Forum “World’s Traditional Medicine Systems” organized by “Euroexpo” jointly with Ayurveda Russian-Indian Association. The Forum was officially supported by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Embassies of India and China, AYUSH Ministry as well as Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.

The key Forum’s exposition was dedicated to Chinese traditional medicine. Indian, Korean and Vietnamese traditional treatment methods were presented as well.

The Forum’s business programme included the round table on “The role and value of the world traditional medicine systems in global healthcare”, the Day of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Day of Traditional Indian Medicine with expert presentations, demonstration of various types of Chinese massage, Indian cuisine tasting, master classes on Ayurveda and yoga.
